TCAPS Seeks Volunteers for PA 226 Sex Education Advisory Committee
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is recruiting volunteers to serve on the Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB). The SEAB meets on a monthly basis to review sex education curriculum and materials according to Public Act 226 and our local bylaws. Membership is for 3 years. Membership on the SEAB includes:
- Parents whose children attend the TCAPS District
- Students in the TCAPS District
- Educators
- Clergy
- Community Health Professionals

Plans Underway for 13th Annual TC Patriot Game
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to announce the 13th Annual TC Patriot Game scheduled for Friday, October 25, 2024. Student Senators from Traverse City Central High School and Traverse City West Senior High School will carry on the long-standing tradition of honoring Veterans, active duty military, and first responders through the TC Patriot Game. Carolyne Daisy, Principal of the Daisy Centre and School in Bukura, Kenya, was an honorary Trojan on September 11. As a principal, Carolyne was eager to see some of the structures and systems Central High School had in place.

Deputy Kreiner from the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office spoke with East Middle School students about making safe, responsible, and respectful decisions in our school and community.

In celebration of Constitution Day, student groups from West Middle School took part in a Constitution scavenger hunt.

Detroit Red Wing prospect players visited Central Grade School to introduce hockey skills to 4th-grade students and read a book to 1st-grade classrooms. Before leaving, they presented the school with a Little Free Library!

Cherry Knoll custodian Kelly Donaldson taught safety patrollers the proper way to lower the American flag for the evening.

The Student Support Network (SSN) is a program administered by Traverse City Area Public Schools that provides free supportive, educational-related services and non-academic support to help overcome obstacles that may create barriers to learning.
