TCAPS Seeks Volunteers for PA 226 Sex Education Advisory Board
Traverse City Area Public Schools is recruiting volunteers to serve on the Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB). The SEAB meets on a monthly basis to review sex education curriculum and materials according to Public Act 226 and our local bylaws. Membership is for 3 years. Membership on the SEAB includes:
- Parents whose children attend the TCAPS District
- Students in the TCAPS District
- Educators
- Clergy
- Community Health Professionals

Plans Underway for 12th Annual TC Patriot Game
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to announce the 12th Annual TC Patriot Game is currently scheduled for Friday, October 20, 2023. Student Senators from Traverse City Central High School and Traverse City West Senior High School are planning to carry on the long-standing tradition of honoring Veterans, active duty military, and first responders through the TC Patriot Game. Important Food Service Reminder: Free Meals for All Students; Applications Still Requested
This year, all TCAPS students will receive free breakfast and lunch each school day. This benefit is provided under new State of Michigan legislation. Applications, however, are still very important. Information obtained from these applications allows TCAPS to apply for grants and state and federal funds for programs that support all students. Completing this application is vital to district funding regardless of your family income level. Please complete the application online at traversecity.familyportal.cloud. You can also print and deliver the application (found below) to your school or mail it to: TCAPS Food Service, 1180 Cass Road, Traverse City, Michigan 49685. For more information, click here. The TC West High School Robotics team is excited to help Traverse City West Middle School launch two competitive FTC robotics teams this year. In addition to the game reveal, the TC West Titans led sessions in strategy, mechanisms and drivetrains, and programming.

Traverse City West Senior High School students signed "applause" during their first home game in memory of Mr. Shawn Lent, former American Sign Language teacher. Mr. Lent is greatly missed by all!

Student Support Network (SSN)
The Student Support Network (SSN) is a program administered by Traverse City Area Public Schools that provides free supportive, educational-related services and non-academic support to help overcome obstacles that may create barriers to learning for all students, ages 3-20. SSN provides backpacks, school supplies, personal hygiene items, clothing for school purposes; referrals for housing, medical and mental health needs, transitional living, and more. If your student(s) needs help overcoming obstacles, please contact SSN Coordinator at 231.933.1789 or complete the Student Support Network Request Form.
