Please come to Little Fleet on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. for Soup and Bread to support TCAPS Student Support Network. Area chef’s donate soup, a bakery donates bread, you get free soup, and donate what you can to support students in need.

Students and staff from across the district celebrated their 100th day of school this month with special lessons, fun activities, and celebrations!

Traverse City Central High School and Traverse City West Senior High School boys and girls basketball programs donated $2,000 to the Cowell Family Cancer Center! Funds were raised during their two-day “Purple” event in January, which honored loved ones who have battled cancer and raised funds for local healthcare.

Students and families at Courtade Elementary School and Eastern Elementary School celebrated Valentine's Day with a dance! Thank you to the staff and parent volunteers for creating an amazing night of dancing, treats, crafts, and smiles.

The Apple Tree Room at TCAPS Montessori has been learning about African American History through the study of the quilts of Gee's Bend and their unique connection to Martin Luther King Jr. Students created their own quilt squares and helped sew a class quilt together.

Traverse City East Middle School hosted a Career Exploration Day where they welcomed 31 speakers from many different backgrounds to share their experiences and answer questions from students. Thank you to all who participated! West Middle School will host a similar event on March 9th.

Natalie Hickman's first grade class, along with their buddies in Mr. Walter's fourth grade class, at Blair Elementary School organized a class service project and made Valentines for residents at local assisted living facilities as a way to share kindness within our community.

Third, fourth, and fifth grade students from the Courtade Elementary School Robotics Team participated in a competition at Elk Rapids Middle School. They were tasked with working together with other northern Michigan elementary and middle school teams to complete a game with the robots they had built. Their robotics teams worked hard, never gave up, and most importantly demonstrated their ROAR! Congrats Courtade Robotics Teams!

The Model United Nations Team at Traverse City West Senior High School participated in the SEMMUNA Conference. Team members Rea Correia, Adyson Banton, Sara Elliot, Emily Michaelski, Valerie Marinello, Piper Adams, Honorae Shore, Meg Barnum, Mia Hoffman, Morgan Orth, Evi Burtt, and Sofia Hoag competed against 15 schools outside of Traverse City and all had great success in their first conference ever! Honorae Shore won Best Delegate, Rea Cicero won Best Speaker in the Novice Division, and Honorable Mention awards were given to Adyson Banton and Evi Burtt in the Novice Division.
