Bill Marsh Price Point Leads Community Drive to Raise Funds for Student Lunches
Traverse City Central High School - TCAPS graduate and author, Mandy Toomey, donated $1,000 to the School Lunch Payoff Fundraiser: Price Point Cares event. Toomey wrote the children’s book “Goodnight Traverse City” and dedicated $1,000 from the book sales to help families that can’t afford a hot lunch in the public schools. She has pledged to donate 10% of the proceeds from the book to TCAPS food assistance program.
“When I heard that Price Point was taking donations and matching up to $2,000, I felt this would be an opportunity for my donation to have a greater impact,” says Toomey.
“We believe students can’t get the most out of the classroom unless they have a balanced, healthy lunch,” says Price Point manager Lisa Groleau. Groleau says she has heard from other organizations that plan to help
support the lunch program. The fundraiser will continue through Friday, December 21st. Cash or checks can be dropped off at any Bill Marsh or Price Point location. More information is available on Facebook.
